I lived without running water for a decade
and now that I re-read that sentence
I can hardly believe it myself.
But it has made me forever grateful for
my morning or evening shower;
filling a pasta pot with water from the sink;
and cold, clear water to drink.
*783 million people in the world do not have access to safe water. This is roughly 11 percent of the world’s population.
*An American taking a five-minute shower uses more water than the typical person living in a developing country slum uses in a whole day.
*12 percent of the world’s population uses 85 percent of its water.
Wow. I’d love to hear your story about that! While sharing a cup of tea on the porch, of course! :)

Yes, even the brief version is too long to write about here! We seem to have sort of parallel lives — mine in the 80s and yours, now. But you are doing a much better job of it! :-)

I love having connections with others, don’t you? It makes me feel like I always have someone in the world who has thought the same thoughts I have :) I don’t know if I’m doing a better job, but I will say that I’m trying to get these repairs done in my 30s because I don’t want to do it later on, lol.

Right! Lots of times I groan and think — I’m too old to do this again! (stint of city life and total life changes in between the two houses.)
